Interviews with indy wrestlers and promoters

This is the page that i am doing interviews with wrestlers and promoters. If you would like to be interviewed e-mail me and i will send you the questions.

IFW PROMOTER JOHN TENTA

> 1)Tell us a little about yourself.

I've been in pro wrestling for 15 years, but have been a fan since I was six years old. I won a world championship in amateur wrestling, becoming Canada's FIRST world wrestling champion at any level. I was 24-0 in Sumo
wrestling in Japan.
>
> 2)What has been your best wrestling moment?

Probably stepping into the ring against Hulk Hogan, and working an angle with him. In the early 90's, if you were involved with Hulk, you were on top of the world!
>
> 3)What has been your worst wrestling moment?

Can you say, "SHARK ATTACK!!"?
>
>
> 4)Who is the best indy talent today?

Singles: Big Mac Daddy, Bruiser Layton, Scoot Andrews
Tag: Marketcrashers, Slim & Trim
Upcoming: Tank Meloche, Live Wire, Rebel Rocker Towns
*These are talents I have seen, and are only my opinion. There is other great talent that I just haven't seen yet. Florida is probably one of the most "indy" rich states. I do not mean to under-rate any other talent.
>
> 5)Who is the most underrated wrestler today?

Big Mac Daddy- other promotions wouldn't give him credit until I started using him. He's big, strong, and does some amazing things for such a big guy.
>
> 6)Who is the most overrated wrestler today?

I choose not to answer this question as I don't put down any talent, even if I don't like that person.
>
>
> 7)Who would you like to work with?

I'd love another match with Scott Hall. I'd also like to lock up again with the Big Show. I'd also like to work against Dusty Rhodes' Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling promotion. TCW vs. IFW. I must build up IFW before this dream could come true, though.
>
> 8)What independent promotions do you like working for today?

Because I'm trying to build up my own promotion, I don't do a lot of indy wrestling anymore, BUT there are some promotions I'd consider.
>
>
> 9)What titles have you held and if tag who with?

Canadian Pacific Coast Championship, SWS(Japan) Tag title with Typhoon, and WWF Tag titles with Typhoon
>
> 10) Anything else you'd like to add?

This first year has been a huge challenge. I've had successes, defeats, and disappointments. I've learned alot, made a lot of new friends, got help from a lot of old friends, and will continue to fight forward. I feel I have only a few more corners to turn, before this all pays off. Wrestlers that I've booked have been awesome. They've given all they had, and all have been true pros. My locker rooms are great- no egos or prima donnas. Even my refs, put
all their heart into their work. I thank all of them, and promise, I'm working hard to take us all to that next level. Thank You.

Thank you for your time a good luck!!!!

Welcome to my interview page. This is my first interview and it is with a friend of mine the hcw heavyweight champion Nightrider.

1)Tell us a little about yourself.

I'm Nick Mayberry aka: The Nightrider - I created HCW and I am the current HCW Hardkore Heavyweight Champion. I also enjoy pain, Stephanie McMahon,
music, and I like to kick ass and break shit.
******************************************************************************

**************
2)What has been your best wrestling moment?

My best wrestling moment? I have two: winning my belt back at the Hollywood Jaycees and appearing on Deco Drive. I worked hard for that and all of the
guys worked hard and deserved it.
******************************************************************************

*************
3)What has been your worst wrestling moment?

Anything involving that shit EFW and probably losing my temper during the Christmas Tree Match back in 99'. I cursed up a storm in front of about 60-70
people, including children. But it's all good.
******************************************************************************

**************
4)Who is the best indy talent today?

I have to say Izzy Madd and TxT. Those guys are incredible. They give everything theyve got to it. They are completely dedicated guys. They are the
first ones there and the last ones to leave. They have tremendous talent and it's a shame that they aren't seen by WWF.I also like Shark Boy, he's a hardworker.
******************************************************************************

****************
5)Who is the most underrated indy wrestler today?

shark boy, izzy madd, and txt. sharkboy was let go by wcw even though he worked his ass off and is good at what he does.izzy and txt are overlooked because they wrestle here in hcw,and are thought to be green.
******************************************************************************

****************
6)Who is the most overrated indy wrestler today?

I am not quite sure there is one.
******************************************************************************

***************
7)Who would you like to work with?

I would like to work with Mick Foley,Ric Flair,DDP,the Undertaker,Hugh Morrus, and Sting. They are all hard workers and have contributed alot to the business.I'd also like ot work with Izzy Madd, but he seems to keep avoiding
my challenges.
******************************************************************************

**************
8)What independent promotions do you like today?

I like XPW,I think it brings fans the action that they wanted to see in ECW but now can't.I also think CZW is doing very well.Of course keep an eye on HCW cause you never know when we will surprise you.
******************************************************************************

**************
9)What do you think of ECW closing?

I truly will miss ECW, it provided me withsome of the most memorable moments, and without it WWF wouldnt have a lot of the guys they do. I feel sorry for
the guys who worked their asses off and nowhave no place to go.
****************************************************************************
10) Anything else you'd like to add?

I would like to tell everyone about theHCW message board, its there until we get our site up. Id also like to mention some of the guys who will bethe future of the wrestling business: Izzy Madd, TXT, Ranaldo Roges,Lazaruz, Joe
Phoenix, Jin Shade, Kamikaze, and Strychnine.

Well that is the interview from nightrider. there will be more as i get them. And here is the link for the board.

BLOOD PUFF INTERVIEW

1)Tell us a little about yourself.

Well, I'm more a creative guy than a wrestler, but I don't mind taking a bump or two for the show. I am the composer for Blue Cyder the band, the creator of the Cyder Dragon Comic as well as the bluecyder.com site.

2)What has been your best wrestling moment?

Honestly? I enjoyed the angle we played with Ladies Man at Maximum Impact. Carson did a good job getting everyone over!

3)What has been your worst wrestling moment?

Worst? I can't say I have a worst moment, maybe the moments after ICP busted the ring at SCW's Spring Breakout, because we (Blue Cyder) were the people who got the clowns there.

4)Who is the best indy talent today?

Wow. That's a tough one. Locally, I like Michael Todd, Frankie Capone, Python and Pete Cannon for heavyweights. Justice, Livewire, and Cynic are kick ass cruiserweights. Overall, I don't think I can make a fair 'one' choice... the indies are so varied.
5)Who is the most underrated wrestler
today?
In my eyes? Livewire... or Justice... but I'd have to say Livewire probably, because he is able to make anyone look great.
6)Who is the most overrated wrestler today?

Oh man, that's a toughie too... putting the locals aside, I'll go diplomatic and say Billy Gunn.

7)Who would you like to work with?

hehehe, Insane Clown Posse, Mutt Lang, Eddie Van Hallen... if you mean wrestlers, I guess I'd like to work with the crew I'm already mixed in with, Justie, Cynic and such. They are great guys!

8)What independent promotions do you like working
for today?

This one's a mute question, as far as wrestling goes, I'm an SCW exclusive.

9)What titles have you held and if tag who
with?

I've never held any title, other than husband, but that was a short lived reign, hahaha...I tagged her too...
>
10) Anything else you'd like to add?

Sure, I'd like to let everyone out there know that the indy scene is red HOT in central Florida... just read the boards, some feds seem ready to go at it for real! It's all in fun, I hope, but just the same, if the fans come out and support what they like, it will all work out in the end.
when i get it back i will post it.

Thanks for your time and check out scw and blood puffs site at bluecyder.com

MARKET CRASHERS (NASDAQ)

1)Tell us a little about yourself.
I'm NA$DAQ. One half of The Market Crashers, the most coheshive wrestling unit ever assembled. DOW JONE$ & NA$DAQ, PURE POWER and TOTAL VICIOUSNESS. Tag Team wrestling at it's finest.

2)What has been your best wrestling moment?
Holding six tag team titles at one time.

3)What has been your worst wrestling moment?
Training to get here, we went the dirty, dingy route. We came up rough. training 3 times a week, 4 hours at a time, in a hot dungeon. Remember in Rocky 3 when Rocky lost the eye of the tiger? Apollo brought him to that filthy, dirty, hard ass, old school gym. We'll let's just say, been there, done that! The atmosphere made my partner and I hungry, I wouldn't trade that feeling for the world. We got taught the right way, and we had to work for everything we got. It made us really respect this business.

4)Who is the best indy talent today?
What a hard question to answer, there are so many directions I could go in picking someone.Well I think your talking about up and coming guys, so I'll go that route. Well that's real hard to say too, there are so many talented guys like, Chris Daniels, Scoot Andrews, Low- Ki, Billy Fives, Hass Bros., Mike Sullivan, Reckless Youth, Mike Modest. I'd like to even think that The Market Crashers are high on a list of the top indy guys, but if I had to pick my favorite it would be BILLY FIVES.

5)Who is the most underrated wrestler today?
AL SNOW

6)Who is the most overrated wrestler today?
GOLDBERG

7)Who would you like to work with?
CHRIS BENOIT

8)What independent promotions do you like working for today?

First of all, I AM NOT "UPTOWN" FRANKIE CAPONE!! Unlike him, I've had the last name my whole life, LOL! I am Originally from New Jersey but have lived in Florida for most of my life. I have been a wrestling fan for 18 years and have had the privilege of meeting and working with some very "unique" individuals through the various wrestling projects I have been involved in. Other interests include: music, movies, video production & web design. My site: www.wrestlingworld.cc is constantly looking for the best wrestling links from around the internet.

2)What has been your best wrestling moment?

Well the most fun I ever had was in when I had the opportunity to work as a sword wielding heel manager known as "The Highlander" with the Insane Wrestling Alliance in Jacksonville, FL. But my BEST wrestling moment had to
be on October 30th, 1999 while I was co-host of "The Chokehold Radio Show" on WVOJ AM 970 here in Jax. It was our 3 year anniversary show and (thanks to Don & Dotty Curtis) we had the honor of conducting what would be the late great "Dean of Wrestling Announcers" Gordon Solie's final recorded interview. The night before the show, I spoke with Gordon on the phone and could tell his voice was very weak due to his battle with throat cancer and I was
doubtful he would be able to do the interview. I told him I really appreciated him taking the time to do talk with us, but if he felt like he couldn't, I totally understood. Needless to say being the professional he was, he called right on time and gave what turned out to be one of the most emotional interviews I have ever heard.

3)What has been your worst wrestling moment?

That would have to be watching Owen Hart's accident at the "Over The Edge" PPV. That had to be one of the darkest moments I could ever remember in wrestling. Also when we shut down production of the radio show in July 2000.
I really miss interacting with the wrestlers and fans in that environment.

4)Who is the best indy talent today?

I enjoy watching guys like Billy Fives, Scoot Andrews, CCN, and Dagon Briggs.

5)Who is the most underrated indy wrestler today?

Wade O'Really. That guy is totally insane. If he's ever given a big break....watch out! Sorry Krusher, you should have paid me a little more (lol)!

6)Who is the most overrated indy wrestler today?

Well, he's a legend in his own mind. CB Cane the champ/owner of the TWF. You look up con-artist in the dictionary, his picture is there.

7)Who would you like to work with?

Jeremy Kennedy of Strictly Wrestling! Just kidding. Well, I am not trained as a wrestler, but if I ever had the chance to work with Bret Hart or Chris Benoit in any wrestling related project I would make the most of it.

8)What independent promotions do you like today?

IPW. Since I have been keeping up with the indies over the last 6 years they have made the most noise. You have to respect a guy like Ron Niemi who has put his heart and soul into that promotion. It's all starting to pay off for him and all the guys that bust their asses for him. It will be fun to see where IPW will go over the next few years.

9)What do you think of ECW closing?

I think it sucks. Of "THE BIG 3", ECW presented pro wrestling in it's purest form. They made the most with the talent they had and gave us very entertaining product sans the same bullshit that ran rampant in the WWF & WCW.

10) Anything else you'd like to add?

Yes. Thanks for granting me the space on your site BaDDboy. Be sure to check out: www.wrestlingworld.cc. Also if any of the local workers out there are interested in having a quality promo video made, visit the site and get in
touch with me.
